When an existing deck begins to deteriorate, safety becomes just as important as design.
At the Mulberry Court Residence in Eltham, our clients’ original deck had suffered significant weathering over time, with compromised structural elements that required prompt and considered intervention. The brief was clear: rebuild the deck properly, improve safety, and create an outdoor space that felt cohesive with the home and its natural setting.
We guided our clients through each stage of the deck rebuild, from early planning and material selection through to construction, ensuring clarity, structural integrity, and a refined final outcome.
The new deck features upgraded structural and handrail posts in 125mm x 125mm ironbark, selected for its durability and strength, paired with merbau decking underfoot. Ironbark shiplap feature cladding was introduced to add warmth, texture, and a sense of permanence, resulting in a timeless outdoor space that feels grounded and well resolved.
Designed and built with longevity in mind, this Eltham deck rebuild has transformed an unsafe structure into a safe, considered outdoor area, one our clients can confidently enjoy for many years to come.
