Clarke House began with a simple goal: to create more space for a growing family without leaving the home they already loved.
As the family grew and visits from relatives and friends became more frequent, the original home needed more room to comfortably accommodate everyday life, overnight guests and larger gatherings.
We worked closely with the owners through the planning and design process to create an extension that felt like a natural part of the existing home while giving the family the extra space they needed.
The extension added three new bedrooms, including a dedicated kids’ room, a guest room and a new master bedroom with its own ensuite. A powder room was also added near the pool, making it practical and easily accessible when entertaining outdoors.
Inside the existing home, the changes were kept simple, with a light interior refresh to connect the original spaces with the new extension and give the home a more cohesive feel.
The outdoor areas were a big part of the project. A long and generous alfresco space was created alongside a new swimming pool and shed, giving the family more room to relax, entertain and spend time together.
These additions completely changed how the home connects with the backyard and created a space that works just as well for everyday family life as it does for larger gatherings.
With the extension complete, Clarke House is now a six bedroom home with more space for family, guests and entertaining.
The home can comfortably accommodate gatherings of 16 to 18 people, while still feeling practical and comfortable day to day.
The result is a home that feels more generous, more functional and better suited to the family who lives there, with space for the kids, room for guests, a private master suite and an outdoor area made to be enjoyed.
